What is Tatting? you may be asking..
Well,
A brief summary is that it’s a type of Lace making technique which uses a Shuttle or a needle to Knot the thread into a wide range of designs.
It is a descendant of the way Sailors used different knots to create their nets, and was very popular in the 19th century.
Tatting was very popular when making collars, lace edgings, and doilies.
Tatting has been a hobby of mine for a few years. Recently I have been experimenting more, trying a variety of designs and lots of colours.
It may be a time consuming process, but I love it!
